About : What’s Cooking In Jane’s Kitchen ©
A very warm welcome to my New Blog! “What’s Cooking In Jane’s Kitchen.”
I started cooking when I was five years old! Everything I could find in our Mediterranean garden went into my ‘make believe’ cooking pot. Pine nuts, flowers, leaves, grasses, berries, were all gathered carefully together and in our make believe world, my dear Father, enacted his role of ‘taster’ to perfection, with many extra helpings of laughter thrown in!!!!
As a child I loved watching other people cook, the warmth of the kitchen, the wonderful smells. My fascination with what unfolded before my eyes, kept me amused for hours.
At eighteen, I decided to join the “Tante Marie School of Cookery”. A year later I was presented with my “Cordon Bleu Cookery Diploma” which I attained, to my delight, with Credit!
Cooking has always been my passion and my friends were always asking me to share with them my recipes. Once my family grew up, I began giving lessons to a wonderful group of close friends and from there, I decided to branch out onto the Internet.
“What’s Cooking In Jane’s Kitchen,” is for all of you who love to cook, and for my children, away at University and their friends, who are starting out, on this intriguing path of creativity!
All questions and comments are very welcome and I hope you will enjoy coming with me on this New Cooking adventure !

I’m so impressed with your new blog! Looking through the recipes, along with others I’m delighted to have been the recipient on the other end of the fork to most!!!
Seeing your recipe for chilled tomato soup reminded me of another memorable recipe of yours. It might be useful seeing as we’re now in Spring, heading towards summer…it was a chilled carrot coriander and orange soup which was so delicious ! xx

It took me a while, but here I am, and your recipes look even more mouthwatering than ever, the pictures are beautiful, the text so easy to follow. There are so many ingredients that I can find so readily here in Singapore and I will start experimenting as soon as I start having more company during the summer. I have been a lazy cook, too many hawker centers to discover, lah!

Why thank you dear Cousin! I have just posted for you a lively Greek Recipe, Stifado, which uses many small onions and is delicious! It was Da’s favorite so you are keeping up the family “R’S” tradition! He also loved pickled onions!!! xxx
